In November 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly a top aide to Donald Trump, visited the UK to deliver a address at the Oxford Union.

The event was interrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, scheduled to board a flight that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists slowed down speech don't think I can catch the flight we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a gulf air departing at 9:50 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "U r an excellent assistant".

These messages were released on this week alongside over 20,000 documents from the records of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The release by the Congressional committee includes an text conversation where Bannon's identity is withheld. Media outlets has been able to establish his identity by matching the timeline, events, and places referenced.

For instance, Epstein discusses chartering a plane from Scotland for the redacted user in the chat, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon took part in the News Xchange conference on 14 November, and delivered the talk at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any misconduct, did not reply on the inquiry.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon was one of the president's closest advisers in the run up to the 2016 election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but resigned from the administration in 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a film about Epstein prior to his passing and allegedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his podcast recently, he stated: "We're going to release the film, the five-part series, next year - at the start of next year."

But the newly released materials suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than documenting his life, with the convicted paedophile at times appearing to serve like a aide.

A few days before the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid booking agent in the world ".

Bannon thanked him: "U r quite capable assistant", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Excluded".

Discussing a trip to "Abu Dhabi" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I'll make sure you are taken care of."

British Affairs Discussed in Messages

The published messages also reveal Bannon and Epstein discussing British political matters in that year.

Earlier on the same day his address at the Oxford, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit issue this morning with Nigel, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a reference to Theresa May, the struggling UK prime minister at the period, he added: "The guys are trying to move on. may soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view staying as long as you can in the UK. Ideal- so people see the commitment of your follow-up."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa may survive". Bannon replied: "It seems unlikely BUT the people over here have little courage" and noted "Boris ; Gove; Rees Mogg; David Davis - someone has to take charge".

May was eventually removed in May 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A representative for Reform UK informed media: "Farage has never been in a meeting with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest that encounter took place.

The US House of Representatives will decide next week on whether the justice department should release all its files concerning its probe into Epstein, who passed away in prison in that year.

Interest in Epstein's associations with influential individuals was reignited this week after the release of more than 20,000 pages from his archives.

Some of those mentioned Trump, who has consistently denied any impropriety. The president was a friend of Epstein's for years, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein was initially charged.
